The Scientific Unit was established in 2021 in order to provide the Chamber of Deputies with independent, impartial and objective research and expertise services.
Its objective is to make complex topics like advanced or emerging themes in science and social science available to parliamentarians by providing all the necessary information.

The Scientific Unit is committed to present the scientific consensus in a transparent, independent, impartial and critical manner. If the scientific position is controversial, different viewpoints and their arguments and consequences will be shared to support informed understanding.
